Apex Volleyball Club is honored to announce two scholarship opportunities for the upcoming season in recognition of Sue Daugherty and Jerry Schneider and the lasting impact they have made on the athletes, families and community around them. These scholarships celebrate the values, leadership, service, and dedication that Sue and Jerry have exemplified throughout their years with Club Bear and Apex VBC. Through these awards, we hope to continue their legacy by recognizing individuals who make a meaningful difference both on and off the court.

SERVANT OF THE GAME SCHOLARSHIP

IN HONOR OF SUE DAUGHERTY

Apex Volleyball Club is proud to announce the Servant of the Game Scholarship, a one-time $500 award created in honor of longtime Executive Director Sue Daugherty and the lasting impact she made on those around her during more than 20 years of service to Club Bear VBC and Apex VBC.

This scholarship recognizes an Apex player or family in our 12s-15s age divisions who embodies the spirit of going above and beyond for their team and the Apex community. The recipient will be someone who consistently steps up to help others, volunteers their time, brings people together, or simply does the little things-often when no one is watching-that help make their team stronger and more successful.

Through this scholarship, we are honored to celebrate Sue Daugherty's legacy by recognizing the people within Apex who make our teams stronger on and off the court.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Current Apex VBC player or family in the 12-15s age division for the upcoming season.
Minimum of 2 consecutive years as a member of Apex VBC.
Demonstrated a consistent commitment to going above and beyond to support their team and contribute to its success.
Complete and submit the required nomination form by November 1st, 2026

Financial need will be considered as part of the selection process but isn't required to receive the award.

STUDENT OF THE GAME SCHOLARSHIP

IN HONOR OF JERRY SCHNEIDER

Apex Volleyball Club is proud to announce the Student of the Game Scholarship, a one-time $500 award created in honor of Jerry Schneider and his legacy.

This scholarship recognizes an Apex player in our 16s-18s age divisions who demonstrates a genuine commitment to continued growth and learning, both on and off the volleyball court. The recipient may be someone who consistently seeks opportunities to improve, embraces challenges, and demonstrates a desire to become a better player, teammate, leader, or person

Through this scholarship, Apex is honored to celebrate Jerry Schneider's legacy by recognizing those who understand that growth is an ongoing journey—and who continue to challenge themselves to learn and improve every day.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Current Apex VBC player or family in the 12-15s age division for the upcoming season.
Minimum of 2 consecutive years as a member of Apex VBC.
Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to personal growth, learning and development.
Complete and submit the required nomination form by November 1st, 2026

Financial need will be considered as part of the selection process but isn't required to receive the award.
